Tips, Tricks & Trends - Grandeur Line Offers Versatile Use
By: Danielle Messersmith
Summer time is full of wedding, reunion, graduation and anniversary celebrations. These events generate volumes of memories your customers will treasure for years to come. Enhance those memories with the floral and specialty containers you provide for the event.
Syndicate’s Grandeur line offers a wide choice of high end specialty containers. Grandeur is generously sized, European, hand-blown glass that makes a big statement at the event and works well as home décor after the event. The containers are packed one piece per case and have high perceived value due to design, quality and strong propensity toward after event use. |

The Grandeur line can be used as centerpieces, candleholders, or floor displays.
- For a sophisticated look, fill the tapered squares with decorative balls that coordinate with bridal colors for a wedding or school colors for a graduation.
- Choose the popular Martini Glass pieces to add class and style to any wedding reception. Fill one Martini Glass with ice to chill champagne bottles. Use another incorporating Designer Trays with Aquafoam® and make a beautiful fresh floral arrangement.
- Bring life to the party with the Reversible Bubble Bowl by turning it into a fish bowl. Colorful beta fish are a good suggestion and are low maintenance. Add color with marbles or pebbles.
- Water and floating candles can be used in the Reversible Design Bowl and the Stem Cylinders are perfect as large candle holders. Rocks can also be used around the base of the candles for added affect.

What's New - Classic Shape Offers New Color
Kokomo , Ind. (Feb. 1, 2006)—Syndicate Sales has done it again! The commonplace becomes refreshingly new with the addition of smoke color glass to our oval vases. These well-proportioned offerings are available in 4” ( No. 3381-12-09-clear; No. 3381-12-147-Smoke), 8” ( No. 3382-08-09-clear; No. 3382-08-147-Smoke), and 12” ( No. 3383-04-09-clear; No. 3383-04-147-Smoke). The 4” vase comes in case quantities of 12, the 8” in cases of eight, and the 12” in cases of four.
The narrow depth of the oval makes it an attractive option where space is limited, such as on a sofa table, mantle or on a vanity. The smoke color is a subtly understated accent, neutral enough for any décor. The style of these vases makes them not only beautiful when presented with floral arrangements, but they are sure to be an eye-catching gift idea as well.

RETAIL SPOTLIGHT
First Quarter Winner
Each quarter Syndicate Sales draws a name from all retailers that respond to The Question of the Month. The winning store for the first quarter is Elegant Creations & Celebrations Florists located at 1103 East Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada. The store’s owner and lead designer is Caroline J. Rohrer. Caroline was delighted to be the winner of free Syndicate product. She had this to say about her shop…
“If someone takes the time to walk in or call us on the phone, they are to be treated as if they were in our home.” This is the motto Caroline Rohrer uses to describe her store, Elegant Creations & Celebrations Florists (which was named by her daughter).
Rohrer bought the full service, 1200 sq. ft., Las Vegas, NV store in 1993 and has been in the floral industry for almost 35 years. She works with her husband, who keeps the books, while she designs, and handles the marketing, buying and selling.
Because Elegant Creations & Celebrations is in Las Vegas, Rohrer says 25 percent of her walk-ins are tourists. Those tourists are treated the same as local customers, and never leave the store with out being handed a business card. “If they are going to someone’s home for dinner or a visit, eventually they will send flowers.”
Another big floral seller for Las Vegas is weddings. “I have not met about 60 percent of my brides,” said Rohrer. This is due to brides ordering their floral off the internet. Elegant Creations & Celebrations provides flowers for 300 to 350 weddings a year.
Rohrer’s shop was featured on the Travel Channel for “The Once Upon a 100 Weddings,” which took place on June 9, 2005. The show followed a couple around and recorded everything they needed for their wedding. Elegant Creations & Celebrations was one of two florists that provided flowers for the event.
Rohrer is a member of Teleflora, SAF, The Association of Bridal Consultants and a founding member of the Advisory Board for the floral department of the Community College of Southern Nevada. Rohrer also teaches floral design through the continuing education department at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. |
